One of our biggest attractions at The Brisbane German Club is our brilliant entertainer! He is a one man band bringing you the old, fresh and everything in between with a classic German twist! He can play whatever you want fair ask him. He will foster you to get your hands up in the air and onto the dance floor in no time at all. Six days a week the restaurant caters for all from small to massive appetites, with an la Harte and blackboard menu. Literally the best garlic bread in the world. The Club has about 400 stuffed voting members and an ever increasing number of social members. The Club holds various events and functions throughout the year, e.g. Six days a week, the restaurant caters for all from small to huge appetites with an la Harte and blackboard menu. They bought an allotment in Melbourne Street for the purpose of erecting a Club House. Events staged by the gymnastic team, concerts and other functions became the talk of the town. A choir, theatrical group, bowling team and library were established for the enjoyment of Club members. The new building became a meeting store to cultivate the German language, customs and music. Gain concerts and collections were held for members experiencing financial difficulties. Boat trips to Bishop Island and bus trips were held for the members and their friends. The Club Building was extended in 1955 to cope with the festivities held there each week. In recent years, the kitchen and bar have had extensive renovations to cope with the sheer numbers of visitors to the Club. Visitors are encouraged to apply for Social Membership which grants them access to the Club.
