Sally also runs “Song circles” which are singing groups for people wishing to free their singing voice in ways that are enjoyable, in a non judgmental and supportive atmosphere. Individual sessions cost $80 per hour, and $40 for half an hour. Sally holds a Blue card and police clearance check, and can offer home visits for community aged care and disability settings. Sally can also also offer support with song writing original material. She also offers instrumental accompaniment on piano or guitar during sessions. Rather than enforcing a musical style on her clients, Sally allows them to choose their own songs and style in which they wish to sing. Sally can work with people of all ages and has worked with children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Sally has also worked with singing and music therapy in mental health, as well as in adult palliative care, autism, disability, special education, children’s hospital oncology and intensive care clinical settings. The experience Sally has had working with singing as a therapeutic intervention in clinical settings includes: for memory support in aged, Alzheimer, and dementia care. Singing has the potential to offer therapeutic benefit in a variety of ways. Sally’s singing sessions offer support for freeing the natural singing voice with an approach that aims to be fun and enjoyable. Sally also has 20 years of national and international performance and recording experience as a professional vocalist and vocal teacher. She holds a Masters degree in Music Therapy from University of Queensland. Sally Cooper is a registered music therapist with The Australian Association of Music Therapy (which is the only valid registration body for University accredited Music therapy in Australia. (more).
