Working together to advance Queensland hand surgery, concern and education. The Queensland Hand Surgery Society promotes the pursuit of excellence in hand surgery by: Stimulating interest in hand surgery for the benefit of the community. Promoting the improvement of the science of hand surgery. Encouraging the study and practice of the art and science of hand surgery. Forming associations with other organizations with same aims. The Queensland Hand Society achieves these aims by organizing an annual today scientific meeting each year and evening scientific presentations given by guest speakers by providing grants to promote scientific research and by generous an award each year to the best scientific paper presented by a Consultant Surgeon, Surgeon in Training and Hand Therapist. The ABM comprises a two day Scientific Program consisting of member presentations and invited speakers. The Queensland Hand Surgery Society is an inclusive society and we foster you to apply for membership. The Queensland Hand Surgery has three classes of membership. Member Surgeon with an interest in hand surgery. Registrar Associate Surgeon in Training with an interest in hand surgery. The Queensland Hand Surgery is an inclusive society and encourages anyone interested to apply for membership. The primary criteria for membership is that the person applying has an interest in hand surgery and a desire to urge the aims of the society. The society aims to urge collegiality, research and excellence in the practice of hand surgery. Scientific papers are presented by members, associates and registrar members of the society. Each year we invite numerous guest speakers to the conference. In recent years we have had an International, National and Local guest speaker. Prizes are awarded for the best scientific paper in the categories of Consultant Surgeon, Therapist and Registrar. Grant applications for research projects will be considered at the Annual General Meeting (ABM) held during the conference.
