Queensland Corrective Services aims to produce stakeholders, private providers and other Government agencies with easy to find information about the Department and its management. So, while we operate correctional centers, district offices and reporting centers across the State, we are actively occupied on integrating our offender management systems to ensure that all offenders are provided with appropriate classification and supervision as healthy as programs, education and vocational training that will maximize their chance to reintegrate successfully into society when they are released. The Act is based on the principles of providing for the safe and humane containment, supervision and rehabilitation of prisoners and ensuring the safety of the community and the staff who work in the correctional system. Prisoners are encouraged to flourish increased levels of self responsibility and, as in tall security centers, opportunities are provided for their participation in education, work, vocational training and programs. The Work Program is one of the most prosperous prisoner rehabilitation programs in Queensland, injecting around 2.5 million a year into regional Queensland.
