The Master Painters Association protects both consumers and painters, setting standards for business practice that ensure quality workmanship, as well as giving painters access to information and inner tips of the trade. The federal CPA body also represents the interests of all state based Master Painters Associations. To ensure that the professional standards of the industry are upheld. The Master Painters Association of Queensland is fortunate to have a lengthy history of safe management. All Executive Committee members are elected via postal ballot through the electoral commission of Queensland. Let’s go back to the inception of Master Painters, where, in 1908, according to the records of Decorator and Painter, it appears that the proposal to retain a conference for all Australian painters was promoted in an editorial piece. In this editorial, a very triumphant conference for coach builders and wheelwrights was old as an example, with the idea being that a similar conference for decorators and painters would yield similarly triumphant results. While some states did not feel that a Federal Painting Award was a grave threat, they agreed it was an opportune time to face with fellow decorators and painters all states were unanimous in their opinion to hold the first national Master Painters conference. The beginning national Master Painters conference was a big success, with a powerful base laid for the coming of Australian painting. As an PTO, we’re arrogant of the strong industry partnerships we’ve forged over the end 20 years. The Master Painters Association of Queensland is proud to have served the painting and decorating industry for most of the twentieth century, and looks forward to serving its members for many years to come. Potent and decisive leadership is needed for an industry association to fulfill its role: to represent the interests of the industry at large, and the rights of its industry professionals in particular.
