Meditation brings a deeper state of awareness and presence into your everyday life. The Meditation sittings are WEDNESDAY, FRIDAYS 9.30am-10.30am $10 Silent meditation retreats are held fortnightly on Saturday afternoons 2pm-5pm $35. Meditation is practised seated on the floor with support of zafu cushions, or in a chair. All people are catered for from BEGINNERS to ADVANCED. These half day retreats aim to assist you in developing your own daily practice. There are periods of sitting meditation, and some walking meditation. At other times, participants are asked to conduct the retreat in silence for their own benefit. There is opportunity for discussion, and questions. During meditation retreats, instructions are given on how to meditate. This is the path known to many as self realisation. you realise you are not the mind. When you cease to be controlled by your mind, your emotions and reactions. For those who wish to go deeper, meditation at its very essence is a path of self-enquiry into the truth of who you really are. It gives us clarity of mind, and a deeper sense of contentment with everyday life. Meditation helps us all deal better with physical tension, and our emotions. It has also been scientifically proven that those with cancer and more life threatening illnesses find physical, emotional, and mental relief through meditation. Studies at Harvard University show that people also see improvements in their physical condition through meditation: better sleep, anxiety, to name just a few. This has great health benefits for those who suffer from stress, and reproductive health, and increased fertility rates, better digestion, reduced fatigue, reduced blood pressure, depression. and completely into the present.
