What you should know about La Ruche
Laruche is the latest bar offering from Ellie Moubarak owner of West End cocktail joint Lychee Lounge. The list is mainly ‘re-worked’ classics like an Orange and Ginger Fizz or a Pineapple and Sage Crusta; rest assured you’ll be getting a healthy serve of vitamins from any tasty potion served here. So far the cocktail offerings look pretty comprehensive with a menu divided into classic drinks categories such as Punches, Juleps, Sours and Flips. Justinn De Beer has been appointed as venue manger and charged with ensuring that the drinks offering can compete with the likes of neighbouring cocktail haunt The Bowery (Bar of the Year in 2008 at the Australian Bar Awards). Moubarak has once again joined forces with designer Remo Vallance (also behind the Lychee Lounge), glass blower Lucal Salton and artists Jennie Jackson and KT Doyle to help him create this decadent new venue (indeed, decadence seems to be the name of the game in the valley these days with the along likes of Zuri, and Cloudland.
