The quadrangle acts as a seating area, amphitheater, as healthy as an outdoor art classroom. The centerpiece of The College is a sunken courtyard featuring a running stream and an iconic irritable sculpture. Tree shaded seating areas, begin grassed assembly areas as well as an outdoor ca have all been incorporated into a generously proportioned design. A junior school playground themed around two Gecko sculptures that gives the space its identity, as healthy as sense of fun. Handball courts, sandpits, seating areas and an outdoor learning structure are all woven together in the artistic design. The courtyard blends in seamlessly with the building as well as the surrounding automatic landscape. This character is further complimented through the extensive us of Indigenous plant species. The design response has been a themed landscape based around four explicit vegetative precincts Coastal, Rainforest, Wetland and Unfold Forest. The realization that honest beyond the towns outskirts was a rural landscape of paddocks, fields, mountain ranges creeks. Our design element to connect the two spaces is a spiraling sculptural water feature that acts as a transition point from the 'modern' to the 'traditional' Finishes and materials will visually tie the precinct together as a complete while the design incorporates elements specific to the character of the Scenic Rim Region rather than being generic in nature. To complement the age and character of the house the garden is formal and traditional in structure however it is sensitively imbued with innovative and fresh design elements. Given that this garden was primarily a space to be viewed as opposed to an active, functional space and given our clients interest in art, our solution was to develop this area as a themed sculpture garden, fully integrated into the existing setting. The notable theme we developed for the sculpture garden was that of a miniaturized an abstracted interpretation of a mountain stream that slices through a gorge, out into the open fields and pastures beyond.
