In Woolloongabba to discover a unattractive retro themed craft beer and wine restrict bursting with character. Began its life as a vintage treasure chest in Green slopes. Succeeding a move to Stanley Street in Woolloongabba, the venue is still overflowing with vintage knickknacks and kitsch curios, but now the clothing and records have been swapped for liquor. Stepping through the fore door and a walk through main bar, reveals a whimsical space of interleaving rooms and eclectic furnishings. It feels as though you’re stepping into a friend’s home, albeit one who’s stayed incredibly loyal to yesteryear. Once you’ve found the perfect room in which to settle your tush, sate your thirst with a pick from the predominantly Australian selection of craft beers, wines and spirits. It’s mainly drinks only on the menu here, except a sneaky cheese platter, but guests are welcome to BO their meal of finest the maximum skillful option being Vesta Pizza following door. (I know we can’t.) Back in the day, this amazing duo created an institution where locals could shop and hang’. Not only did this deposit provide some of Brisbane's finest handpicked and locally sourced vintage clothing, accessories and furniture (ranging from the 1950s to the early 1980s), but their unpretentious insignificant place was also the home to some very special funk filled events, with live music, food trucks, and sufficient of good vibes being shared by all. Unfortunately, like every fairy tale, there’s either a huge disobedient wolf or a malicious witch standing in the wings. In this case there was both and neither of them was glad with the duo creating such a wonderful, mirth space for the community so, it was time for them to pack up and move on. Built in the mid1860s, this scanty and ravishing building was once the premises for George and his family’s prosperous jewellery and watchmaking business. With a trivial hard work, sweat, and not too many tears, the duo (along with some very helpful helpers) transformed the used shop from its wrong 90’s makeover to reveal the beauty within (including the dazzling brickwork surrounds). Arrive have a drink and try on a beautiful vintage frock!.
