Matador toys started in business over 30 years ago as a supplier of toys and gifts to clubs and organisations for their annual children�??s christmas party. We both have young children and with them in our minds, we source new items every year that we think would appeal to the various age groups we need to cater for. We use only the highest quality christmas paper, and more often than not double wrap to ensure the gifts arrive in your children�??s hands the same way they have left our hands. Wendy and I travel to melbourne and sydney several times throughout the year, visiting suppliers and the toy and gift fairs, looking for the latest and most popular items to offer you at the end of the year. Jim is in charge of the warehouse, packing and despatch, ros is in the office and you usually get to hear her cheery voice in august/september when she contacts you. Myself and wendy are the wrappers and general all rounders. We have a staff of four who have been known to work six or seven weeks without a day off, but who also like to kick back when there is time for a break with an ice cold coffee breaka and maybe a chicken snitchzel from the local takeaway. In the late 90�??s matador toys purchased qld toy and hobby, a company also servicing social club parties, and with the demise of other club toy suppliers we are now the only company in queensland that specialises solely in this field. The business started as an seasonal toy/gift provider from a private residence, moved on to various premises in south brisbane, and then the company separated into two different entities in the early 90�??s when matador toys removed itself from the stationery side of the business to concentrate solely on toys and gifts.
