Carlos brings over 20 years of road industry experience paired with over 10 years as a senior organizational leader, active in partnership with both the public private sectors. He is a broadly experienced senior organizational engineering manager who has demonstrated the skill to lead diverse teams of professionals to new levels of triumph across public and private sectors. He is a recognized roads industry leader with mighty technical and business qualifications and an impressive track record of hand son experience in strategic planning, business unit development, project and product management while maintaining powerful technical engineering ability and aptitude. Rachel’s experience working in the private, public and notforprofit sectors in the UK and in Australia has given her a diverse and global perspective of active in marketing, communications, design, event management, stakeholder engagement and digital and print media. Her communications, commerce and design qualifications paired with her work experience have given her a healthy rounded skill set and a proven ability to manage a variety of marketing and communications strategies, plans and projects from brief to final production. He specialisms in performance based design and specification of bituminous materials, and the development of advanced pavement design models for these materials. Michael has been involved in the Road Industry for over 20 years through the Shell Bitumen business and managed that business across Australia and Fresh Zealand. In addition he has worked as a global consultant within Shell’s Bitumen Head Office (London). Post Shell he has run his own management consultant business assisting businesses in a variety of industries. In his latter extensive career with the Shell Group, he enjoyed roles in many of the mainland states of Australia. He has served in his stylish role with the Association since 2009. His experience covers management of construction, research and technology development, road and bridge building, and training and skills development. AAA has moved to strengthen its technology leadership position in the compliant pavement area across Australia through the formation of the National Leadership Technology Committee (TLC). The AAA Board has appointed a committee of talented and nationally recognized members from the industry to guide the supple pavements' industry. The development of an agenda that drives better outcomes to deliver smoother, safer and healthy maintained roads will be of profit to the whole community. The TLC will hoist the status of pliable pavement practical research and will be a reference group for industry to yield a focal point for future advances in materials technology, plant and equipment advances and design process evolution. Members of the TLC have a different set of skills and are leaders in their field across the Australian industry. The CEO of AAA convenes the committee’s work that will enliven the technology focus for the Association and provide a new level of input to the Austroads process and guide the pliable pavement industry involvement with broader construction sector. The TLC will bear a correct focus on innovation, lifting Australian standards and practices to be the best in the world in a way that delivers value for money outcomes and enshrines a culture of encouragement and excellence in delivery.
